Naomi Palmer has been teaching hatha yoga and meditation for over 40 years, long before it entered the mainstream of American health practices. Her youthful appearance is a testimony to the rejuvenating and beneficial power of yoga.

Naomi's experience includes being a principal instructor, teaching thousands of people yoga postures and meditation at Ananda's Expanding Light Retreat in Nevada City, California - one of the largest meditation retreats in the world. She has taught at colleges, health clubs, and yoga centers throughout the U.S., and in the 1970's served as founder and director of The Yoga Center in Napa, California and also served as co-director of Ananda San Francisco Yoga Center. More recently she was a yoga instructor at The Yoga Center Reno, Nevada, teaching hatha yoga, kirtan, sadhana and yoga philosophy classes. Currently she is involved in implementing a Yogananda inspired spiritual community at the retreat, the main aspect being God focused living, sharing and enjoying the many blessings that are bestowed upon us.

Naomi's credentials in yoga teaching are from Ananda Village. Her approach to the broader system of Raja Yoga (which includes breath work, chanting, concentration, meditation, etc.) is primarily influenced by the great master Paramahansa Yogananda. She and the staff at Pleasant Valley Sanctuary are disciples of Yogananda and practitioners of Kriya yoga, and make available techniques introduced to the West by Yogananda.
